ROSL COMPOSITION AWARD FINALIST
Michael is delighted to announce that he is a finalist for the inaugural Royal Over-Seas League Composition Award, in association with the London Sinfonietta. For the final round of the competition, Michael and five other finalists were asked to compose short sketch works for “Pierrot” lineup of six players.
Michael composed two one-minute movements of a piece called For Years Now - a reference to a rare collection of “micropoems” written by his favorite author, W.G. Sebald.
The team at ROSL have been courageous and dedicated in the current crisis, and I will be attending the workshop virtually on Monday the 9th of November via live stream. My deepest thanks go to them for keeping such an important opportunity going during this difficult time.
I hugely look forward to working with the excellent players of the London Sinfonietta, and hearing the works of the other composers!
